Father-and-son team get their Harrogate meatballs into Asda stores

The Yorkshire Meatball Co, has now launched its first retail products at Asda stores across Yorkshire and the north. Asda in Harrogate is already stocking them. The Atkinsons said: “After two great years’ operating our Meatball and Craft Beer Bar in Harrogate, we felt it was the right time to introduce our flavoursome, hearty meatballs to Asda shoppers across the county. “We have a fantastic relationship with Asda; its commitment to providing local suppliers with opportunities and the tools to grow is one of the reasons we decided to launch our first retail products with them, plus of course they champion Yorkshire too!”
Since March 2014, David and Gareth have been on a mission to make their meatballs the tastiest in the county through their Harrogate-based Meatball and Craft Beer Bar. All meatballs are 20g larger than other standard retail meatball ranges, made with beef and pork and flavoured with different seasonings.
Yorkshire Balls, their classic variety, now on sale in Asda, are roundly seasoned with shallot, garlic, herbs, salt and pepper. Stuart Taylor, Asda’s local buying manager, said: “Asda is committed to supporting local producers, especially in our heartland and we’ve worked closely with The Yorkshire Meatball Company to stock these innovative and high quality products. “We’re very excited about the new meatball range hitting the shelves and I’m sure they will prove extremely popular with shoppers in Yorkshire."
