Communities throughout the Harrogate District will be paying their respects to the fallen during services and parades on Remembrance Sunday.
Parade down Main Street, leaving from Jack Heap’s Field at 10.55am, followed by the laying of wreaths at the village War Memorial at 11am and a Service of Remembrance in All Saints’ Church, Barwick, at 11.15am.
Remembrance Sunday Service in St James’s, Birstwith, commencing at 10.50am with Last Post and Reveille at 11am. The trumpeter will be Will Hain. Also present will be the Army Foundation College with junior soldiers and officers. Service will be conducted by Fiona Aagaard, benefice reader.

Service of Remembrance at St James’ Church at 9.45am on Sunday, November 13, followed by the Act of Remembrance at the Town War Memorial at 11am.
The traditional Remembrance Sunday service will take place around the War Memorial shortly before 11am on Sunday, November 13, followed by coffee in the village hall. Church services will be held beforehand at both St Mary’s and the Methodist church.

The annual Remembrance Day concert and short service and laying of the wreath will be held in Darley Memorial Hall from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, November 13. The music will be provided by the Summerbridge and Dacre Silver Prize Band. There will also be a photographic display depicting the history of the Memorial Hall, and inviting people to share their memories of the historic building. Admission is free and light refreshments will be provided after the concert. A collection will be taken on behalf of the Royal British Legion.

The Church of St Joseph and St James Follifoot: the service on Sunday, November 13 will be a remembrance service with morning prayer at 10.55am.

The Rotary Club of Harrogate Brigantes will be holding a Remembrance Day service at Harrogate (Stonefall) Cemetery at 1pm.
Harrogate Quakers will be laying a wreath of white poppies at Harrogate Cenotaph to remember all those victims of wars in a ceremony at 2pm on Remembrance Sunday.
The Knaresborough service will take place in St John’s Church, Knaresborough at 9.30am on Sunday, November 13. A service will then be held at the Knaresborough War Memorial at 10.55am on the same day.
The Remembrance Sunday service will be held at St Andrew’s Church in Kirkby Malzeard at 10.30am.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at St Mary’s Church, Masham on Sunday, November 13 at 10.45am.
The Nidderdale Branch of the Royal British Legion would like to remind parishioners and visitors of their own Remembrance Day service on Sunday, November 13 at St Mary’s Church, Greenhow, commencing at 6.30pm.
Nidd Choral will again lead the singing and the service will be conducted by the branch chaplain Rev Darryl Hall, vicar of the parish of Upper Nidderdale.

On Remembrance Sunday, November 13, there will a Service of Remembrance at St Philip’s Church, Scholes, at 9.30am, following a parade which will leave the scout hut at 9.15am. Wreaths will be laid at Scholes War Memorial at 10am.
All Saints Church Spofforth: the service on Sunday, November 13 will be a Remembrance service with holy communion at 10.55am.
The service in Starbeck is at 3pm on Sunday, November 13 and will be attended by Andrew Jones MP and local district and county councillors. The Royal British Legion provide their Standard Bearer and will give the exhortation. The service is proceeded by a parade of local groups, led by the Air Cadets, and the Boys’ Brigade buglers will play the Last Post. Children from Starbeck School will sing at the end of the service.
The United Benefice Remembrance Service will be at All Saints, Staveley at 10.55am on Sunday, November 13.

On Sunday, November 13 the parade will set off from Wetherby Town Hall at 10.35am to march to the War Memorial at Bridgefoot. The Town Remembrance Service will be held afterwards in St James’ Parish Church.
