It's that time of year again. The Yorkshire In Bloom judges are preparing themselves to consider the beds, baskets and planters that are cheering up our region this summer and pass judgement upon them.

According to the Harrogate Enquirer, over 230 communities, schools and businesses will be taking part in this year's Yorkshire In Bloom. It's not just business premises that are looking for the prizes, keen young gardeners are encouraged to create gardens at their schools, and these will be judged in the upcoming weeks.

Residents and voluntary groups alike are encouraged to create environmental projects and showcase community participation and the Royal Horticultural Society encourages all communities to get involved to create safer, cleaner and greener environments.
