Library holds drop in Session for Brew Monday

Blue Monday is the third Monday in January, which is known as one of the most difficult days of the year due to a combination of post-Christmas blues, cold dark nights and the arrival of credit card bills.

The Brew Monday session will promote services offered by the Samaritans, who support anyone who needs someone to talk to, as well as offering an opportunity to help to beat the January blues by getting together with friends, family or colleagues over a brew.

The session will be on Monday, 21 January, from 10am and 2pm. On that day, the Samaritans will also have a presence at Northallerton railway station during the morning and afternoon rush hours.

County Councillor Greg White, Executive Member for Libraries, said: “North Yorkshire’s libraries also support mental health self-care with a range of self-help guides. Books from the Reading Well collections for mental health, dementia and long-term conditions and also a Shelf-help range for teenagers are available free via all libraries.”
