This campaign run by Keep Britain Tidy runs for a month from 22 March to 23 April 2019 and has one simple aim: to bring people in communities across the country together to clear up the litter that blights our towns, villages, countryside and beaches.
Litter blights our streets, parks and beaches and costs us millions of pounds to clear up every year. Keep Britain Tidy aims to inspire people to eliminate litter now and for future generations.
This is about more than simply getting people to pick up litter. They aim to change behaviour permanently by spotlighting the problem daily and offering creative solutions.
They work with people, businesses, local authorities and government to educate, innovate and inspire - improving the environment on everyone’s doorstep.
In 2019, they are calling on you to help improve the environment on your doorstep. They aim to inspire around half a million people to join forces - in partnership with community organisations, businesses and the government - to collect and safely dispose of single-use plastic from our streets, parks and beaches, recycling as much as possible.
Prepare to stand together and declare that single-use plastic litter – which degrades the beauty of our environment and threatens to harm wildlife – is not acceptable.
