Well known local artist, Anita Bowerman, whose Dove Tree Studio is situated in the heart of Harrogate town centre, will be exhibiting her work at the Harlow Carr Garden annual flower show in June.
The flower show will take place between 20 and 23 June at Harlow Carr and one of the highlights of the show will undoubtedly be Anita’s exhibit of original paintings, limited edition prints, and cards featuring her distinctive and collectable nature paintings and exquisite cut paper artworks. The prints for her latest paintings will be available at the show, giving you the opportunity to own a limited edition of this renowned artist’s very latest work. The exhibit will be in The Lodge and is a not to be missed opportunity to meet this renowned artist.
Anita is the current Artist in Residence at Harlow Carr, capturing the garden throughout the seasons with her natural painting style. Her latest works are painted using twigs, moss, feathers and other natural materials to create stunning landscapes which echo the beauty of nature within the gardens. Using nature to depict nature is one of Anita’s signature techniques and whilst the majority of Anita’s tree, wildlife and landscape paintings are Yorkshire based, she has also painted in Scotland, France and Italy.
Anita’s art also includes paper cuts and stainless steel artworks. Her paper cutting has sold worldwide with many pieces, including incredibly detailed and complex maps, taking months to complete. Anita was Official Artist of the Tour de Yorkshire in 2015 and her paper cut maps of the Tour de France Grand Depart Yorkshire route won her many fans amongst the cycling fraternity. Her laser-cut metal wall art is based on some of her original paper cuts.
Anita also undertakes art commissions and her most recent, highly acclaimed, series for Yorkshire Air Ambulance depicted Amanda Owen, the Yorkshire Shepherdess. These works were made into Christmas cards and these will be available to purchase at the exhibit.
Both Anita and Amanda will be speaking at the event. Anita will be speaking at 2pm on 23rd June in the Marquee and this is an opportunity that should not be missed to hear one of Yorkshire’s best known and most respected artists speaking about her work, her inspiration and how she uses nature to bring nature to life within her work.
