Celebrating Yorkshire Business
It's Yorkshire Day on 1st August. We love Yorkshire Day and are proud to issue our latest magazine on this most auspicious of days. Of course, we are a tiny little bit biased, but we happen to think that Yorkshire is THE best place to live and work. The scenery, the architecture, history, tradition, accent and more.
We love it all. But perhaps the best bit of all is the lovely Yorkshire businesses. As our businesses begin to open up again, cautiously but optimistically, we hope you will check out our lovely independents in person. As it becomes easier to see the people we love and spend time out and about, now is a great time to revisit those great attractions you've been missing. Whether it's a trip to the ice cream parlour, Valley Gardens, the river at Knaresborough, Stump Cross Caverns, the dales for a lovely walk, the seaside (lots of choices there for a great day out...), we could go on. However, wherever you roam across our stunning county, we hope you'll enjoy your summer.
I don't know about you, but I appreciate the small things much more now, including being able to get out and about. I'm also looking forward to getting back to the salon as I know a lot of people are, which is why this month's spotlight is shining on our lovely beauty salons. We review some of the very best salons for nails, lashes, brows and more. Plus a great article on nail care too. We hope you enjoy our Hand-picks and feel inspired to visit these, and our many other lovely businesses very soon.
We have so many brilliant businesses in our town, not just bricks and mortar stores but all those lovely micro-businesses who are based at home too. With an increased awareness of our home surroundings has come a desire to improve them, whether you are looking to increase the storage space in your bedroom, or the summer sunshine has persuaded you of the need for a garden makeover, we've got the articles, and companies, you need to achieve this. Our business index has an even wider range of options for everything you might need for the home or garden.
A huge thank you from Handpicked but most of all from our members, to every single one of you who has supported our businesses throughout this difficult time. We are hopeful that the coming months will be easier for our businesses and will allow them to grow again after the challenges of the past year. However, they can't do this without you, our loyal readers and enthusiastic champions of local business. Please keep visiting our businesses and our business index to find the people you need for the tasks that are outstanding around the home, the treats that cheer you up and the support that you need.
We hope that you will find the latest magazine interesting, whether you are looking for a fun activity for the kids over the summer, try the latest recipes, or support our spotlight charity by buying some chocolate... yes, you read that right, why not put your feet up, settle down with your drink of choice, click the magazine cover and get started.
Keeping local businesses visible is important and as always, we have loads of FREE Stuff to help business owners in these unusual times.
