Let the Festivities Begin

When it comes to lighting up the town, nobody does it better than Harrogate. From the lights in the trees along the Stray to the Christmas lights, stunning window displays and Christmas markets. Not forgetting the fabulous Glow events at Harlow Carr. All of which makes Harrogate the perfect place for a spot of gift shopping. Don't miss out on the chance to sit and sip a coffee whilst admiring the lights and window displays before visiting one of the Christmas markets.

This month in our magazine we shine a spotlight on gift stores and select our top picks, all from local independent businesses of course. Whether you are looking for a gift for a child or an adult, we have something for everyone. After all, our town is known for its vibrant independent businesses. We hope you enjoy our Hand-picks and feel inspired to visit these, and our many other lovely businesses over the coming weeks.

Events are starting to return at last so we have brought back our events page with some fabulous festive events taking place in the next couple of months.

Also featured, our local charity is Cash For Kids, which recently launched its Mission Christmas campaign. Find out how you can support this charity in its aim of ensuring children in poverty have a Christmas gift to open on the day.

The festive season is a time for family and friends, relaxation and fun. And of course, food. We have an article on hosting a New Year dinner party from regular columnist, Paul Fogarty, as well as some great recipes that utilise the most popular of kitchen gadgets, the slow cooker. If you've chosen to get out and about in the fresh air, perhaps to walk off a little excess chocolate consumption, then a slow cooker is ideal, providing a hot meal on your return with little effort.

So, why not put your feet up, settle down with your drink of choice, click the magazine cover and get started.

Keeping local businesses visible is important and as always, we have loads of FREE Stuff to help business owners in these unusual times.

Some of you may have noticed that our extremely popular Harrogate Live events are coming back in the new year. We are super excited to bring these back at last.
